Motor Vehicle Accidents in Pennsylvania
Motor vehicle crashes in Pennsylvania often involve some element of negligence. Even though we want to believe that everyone will operate their vehicles safely to ensure those around them remain out of harm’s way, this is simply not a reality. We see far too many innocent people suffer debilitating injuries due to the negligent actions of others. Leading factors in automobile collisions across Pennsylvania each year include:
- Failure to yield: We see all too many people injured in motor vehicle accidents when drivers fail to yield the right of way at intersections. When drivers do not yield the right-of-way to other people while switching lanes, turning at intersections, or even simply traveling on the road, they can cause serious accidents that lead to devastating injuries.
- Intoxication: Drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or even drugs cannot maintain control over their vehicles. Impairment can make it nearly impossible to make responsible decisions and to be able to stop in time to avoid crashing into others.
- Speeding: Driving too fast significantly increases the risk of a person losing control of their vehicle. Unfortunately, this is far too common here in Pennsylvania, especially in Philadelphia. We often see drivers speeding around the interstate to make it to their destinations quicker. Unfortunately, accidents involving speeding vehicles do not typically end well.
