Ebensburg, PA - Woman Dies in Two-Car Accident at High St & Rte 422

Ebensburg, PA (May 7, 2025) – An elderly woman was killed Tuesday after a car crash that took place in Ebensburg.

On Tuesday, May 6, crews were called to the intersection of West High Street and Route 422 in Ebensburg Borough for a report of a two-car crash. According to Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees, a car heading east rear-ended a van at the intersection.

The driver of the car and the van were transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, but a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Lees added that the woman who was killed was in her 90s and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Ebensburg Borough Police Department, a reconstruction team from Pennsylvania State Police, Dauntless Fire, and Ebensburg Ambulance all assisted at the scene. In the interim, PSP troopers are conducting an investigation but have requested that any witnesses come forward immediately.
