Philadelphia, PA (August 7, 2025) – A Philadelphia police officer is recovering after being hurt along the Schuylkill Expressway in a late-night crash on Tuesday.
The officer, who was riding an ATV, was initially knocked unconscious after he was involved in a collision with the driver of an SUV. Authorities responded to the site of the incident, along the westbound lanes of the highway at University Avenue, around 10:30 p.m. The officer is now in stable condition at an area hospital.
It's unclear what led to the accident, and it's not known if anybody in the SUV was hurt. However, an investigation into the incident is ongoing, and witnesses were asked to contact local officers if they had details or insight related to the accident.
