Philadelphia, PA – Man Killed in Fatal Bicycle Crash on N Howard St

Philadelphia, PA (January 22, 2023) – A man was killed in a fatal bicycle accident that took place on Sunday night, January 22, in Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 8:33 p.m. at 1900 North Howard Street. Police confirmed that a man was riding his bicycle in the area when he was suddenly struck by the driver of a white box van due to reasons that are not fully known. The driver fled northbound without stopping at the scene or waiting for police.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A man in his 30s was riding the bicycle and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is not believed that anyone else was hurt in the accident.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
