Philadelphia, PA – James Panno Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Aramingo Ave

Philadelphia, PA (July 19, 2023) – On Tuesday night, July 18, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a roadway in Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia officials, the accident happened around 11:11 p.m. at the intersection of Aramingo Avenue and East Ann Street in the Port Richmond section of the city. A driver was traveling north in the area when it suddenly struck a male pedestrian who was walking across the street at the time. Police did not say if the driver of the vehicle remained on scene after the accident and have not formally identified the driver at this time.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Philadelphia responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help the pedestrian. The pedestrian, identified as 69-year-old James Panno, was seriously injured in the accident and rushed to the hospital by ambulance. He was tragically pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.

The intersection was blocked in the area for some time after the accident. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
