Philadelphia, PA (July 22, 2023) – Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 22, a car accident involving an officer took place at an intersection in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at the intersection of East Comly Avenue and Castor Avenue. Police confirmed that a black sedan was making a turn at the intersection when it slammed into a police cruiser. Both vehicles sustained damage in the collision.
Several Philadelphia responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to assist. Three people who were inside the sedan sustained injuries and were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known. The police officer was treated on the scene for minor injuries by EMS crews.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the road was blocked at the intersection for some time. This led to delays in the area.
Police continue their investigation into the collision at this time.
