Monongahela Twp, PA – 7-Year-Old Fatally Struck by Vehicle on SR 88

Monongahela Twp, PA (Feb. 23, 2026) – On Saturday, February 21, just before 4:30 p.m., a fatal pedestrian crash took place along State Route 88.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police,  a 7-year-old boy was walking westbound across State Route 88 when he was struck by a Honda HR-V. The child was later identified as Wilson Churilla, of Greensboro, by the Greene Co. Coroner’s Office.

Unfortunately, he died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the vehicle remained uninjured and was identified as 92-year-old Lewis Gipson. 

Traffic in the area was temporarily affected while emergency personnel responded and conducted a preliminary investigation. The crash remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
