Mechanicsburg, PA (June 20, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash that took place in Mechanicsburg on Sunday evening, June 19.
According to Cumberland County officials, the accident happened around 7:20 p.m. at 700 Hogestown Road. A Silverado pickup truck was traveling in the area when the driver started to make a left turn. At the same time, they struck a motorcyclist that they did not see when making the turn. The motorcycle sustained heavy damage as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified as 48-year-old Willie Barnes of Camp Hill, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. It is not known if the driver of the pickup truck will be facing charges.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues at this time.
