McAdoo, PA – Tractor-Trailer Accident Leads to Injuries on I-81

McAdoo, PA (February 20, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a tractor-trailer accident that took place on a major roadway in McAdoo on Saturday afternoon, February 19.

According to state police, the accident happened around 1 p.m. on I-81 around the area of mile marker 139. A snow squall started in the area, which led to zero visibility. Three tractor-trailers and ten passenger vehicles were traveling in the area when they were involved in a chain-reaction collision due to conditions on the roads. Several other crashes also took place in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. A total of four people sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Several northbound lanes of traffic were blocked around mile markers 138 and 141 until police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
