Huntingdon Co, PA - Woman Dies in Collision on US 22 at Main St

Huntingdon County, PA (August 14, 2024) – An Altoona woman was killed Wednesday in a crash on U.S. Highway 22 in Huntingdon County.

Troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police were called to William Penn Highway at the intersection with Main Street on Tuesday, August 14, just before 3:00 p.m. According to the latest reports released by authorities who responded to the site of the incident, the accident involved a 2004 Ford F250 and a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.

The Ford was traveling east and being driven by an Alexandria man. The Chevrolet was traveling west and being driven by Rikki Potts, 33, of Altoona. Police reported that the Ford driver allegedly made a left-hand turn onto Main Street and hit the left front side of the other car.

The impact caused Potts to travel off the road, and her car came to rest on the shoulder of the westbound lane. Potts was pronounced dead at the scene, per police officers. No further details were released, however. It's unclear if any other injuries were reported, but an inquiry is ongoing.
