Hazleton, PA (April 30, 2026) – A three-vehicle crash left at least one person trapped inside a heavily damaged SUV on Wednesday, April 29, near the 541 block of West Broad Street in Hazleton.
Emergency units were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:41 p.m. When crews arrived, they found a three-vehicle collision involving an SUV that had sustained heavy damage to the driver’s side door.
The driver of the SUV was unable to exit the vehicle on their own. Firefighters used hydraulic spreading and cutting tools to remove the driver's door and the brake pedal in order to free the person inside.
Once the driver was extracted, crews worked alongside EMS to provide care at the scene. The driver was then transported to a nearby medical facility for further treatment. Details about the extent of the driver's injuries or the other vehicles and their occupants have not been released at this time.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
Our thoughts remain with those injured as they receive care and work toward recovery.
