Greensburg, PA – Karen Botteicher Killed in Fatal Car Crash on Humphrey Rd

Greensburg, PA (June 11, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a roadway in Greensburg on Saturday morning, June 11.

According to local officials, the accident happened on Humphrey Road. Police confirmed that 61-year-old Karen Botteicher was traveling in the area in her GMC Envoy when her vehicle was suddenly struck by a Ford F-350 that crossed the center line of traffic. The vehicles forcefully collided, which led to extensive damage to the involved vehicles.

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Botteicher was allegedly trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the driver to cross the center line, leading to the collision. It is not known if they will be charged for their role in the accident.
