Fannett Township, PA (February 15, 2025) – A crash inside the Kittatinny Tunnel eastbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike stopped traffic for about an hour on Saturday, February 15.
The crash happened just before noon inside the tunnel. At least two people were hurt, as a result of the wreck, state police said, though multiple ambulances were called to the scene. No further details have been released at this time, but an investigation is still ongoing. Witnesses should contact the Fannett Township Police Department to report any additional information.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full and rapid recovery at this trying time.
Our state witnesses thousands of vehicle accidents annually, resulting in serious injuries or fatalities for many drivers. When traveling on the multi-lane freeways and highly frequented interstates that cover our state, Pennsylvanians may be particularly worried about the hazards and risks of these serious accidents, just like residents of many other states. This is especially true on highways with higher speeds and a ton of traffic. As a result of the extensive network of highways and interstates that Pennsylvania has, it is unsurprising that our state experiences a significant amount of fatal and injury-causing collisions.
Moreover, accidents involving multiple drivers are even more likely to be catastrophic and even deadly. For example, in one recent year alone, 166,000 of these accidents occurred throughout the United States, around 4,700 of which resulted in deaths. Though Florida, Texas, and California were the top states for these accidents, Pennsylvania wasn't far behind. That said, those interested in filing claims against the insurance company of an at-fault driver in a Pennsylvania accident may face an uphill battle.
For these reasons and more, following a vehicle accident caused by another party's negligence, victims can and should take legal action with the help of a skilled attorney. If you've been hurt or lost your loved one in a preventable collision, you must reach out to a personal injury attorney in Fannett Township as soon as possible.
