Cumberland Co, PA – Fatal Motorcycle Wreck on Rte 114 at Rte 15
Cumberland County, PA (September 7, 2024) – According to the Pennsylvania State Police troopers, a motorcyclist who was killed in a deadly crash in Cumberland County on Friday afternoon, September 6, has been identified.
According to the Cumberland County Coroner, the motorcyclist was 41-year-old Zachary Bane of Gettysburg. The coroner says Bane was the operator of the motorcycle who struck a vehicle that had turned in front of him as he was traveling northbound on Route 114. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple traumatic injuries.
A spokesperson for PennDOT said Bane’s motorcycle and SUV were the only two vehicles involved in the crash, which happened just after 12:30 p.m. on Route 114 near the intersection with the Route 15 ramps. However, the inquiry is active and ongoing in the interim. In addition, local police have asked any witnesses to reach out.
