Carlisle, PA — Two Hospitalized After Stop-Sign Crash at W Trindle Rd & S Middlesex Rd

Carlisle, PA (April 27, 2026) — A catastrophic two-vehicle collision on Friday, April 24, has left a local mother fighting for her life and her teenage daughter seriously injured.

According to the New Kingstown Fire Company and Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 11:34 a.m. at the intersection of West Trindle Road and South Middlesex Road.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a pickup truck, operated by a minor, failed to stop at a posted stop sign and struck a minivan entering the intersection. The force of the impact caused the minivan to roll multiple times before coming to a rest in a nearby farm field.

The driver of the minivan, Molly Pague, was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and sustained life-threatening injuries. Her 13-year-old daughter, a passenger in the van, also suffered serious injuries. Both were rushed to Hershey Medical Center for emergency treatment. Two minors in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.

State Police are currently reconstructing the accident scene to finalize the crash report.

We wish a full and swift recovery for Molly Pague and her daughter.

What Are My Rights After a Failure-to-Yield Accident in Carlisle, PA?

If you or a loved one were injured because another driver ignored a stop sign in Carlisle, Pennsylvania law provides a clear framework for seeking justice. In a "failure to yield" case, the driver who violated the right-of-way is held liable for the medical bills, lost wages, and profound trauma caused by the collision.

In Pennsylvania, when a driver violates a specific traffic safety law, it can be considered negligence per se. This legal doctrine means the driver’s violation of the statute serves as automatic proof of negligence, simplifying the process of holding them accountable.

Technical evidence from the scene, including skid marks and vehicle rest positions, will be vital in confirming the involved vehicle's speed and failure to stop.

Pennsylvania follows a "Choice Tort" insurance system. Normally, if you select the Limited Tort option on your policy, you are restricted from suing for "pain and suffering" unless your injuries meet a specific "serious impairment" threshold.

However, in cases involving life-threatening injuries or permanent disfigurement, these restrictions are automatically waived. This allows families to seek full compensation for non-economic damages, including the emotional distress and physical pain associated with such a violent rollover and ejection.

When the at-fault driver is a minor, their parents' insurance policy typically provides the primary coverage. Nonetheless, if the medical costs exceed the limits of that policy, which is common in life-threatening cases, victims can turn to their own Underinsured Motorist (UIM) coverage.

Additionally, if a minor was involved, the investigation will look into "negligent entrustment", whether the parents should have allowed the minor to operate the vehicle, given their experience level or driving history.
