Car Accidents in Pennsylvania

Camp Hill, PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on PA-581 Ends in InjuriesCar accidents in Pennsylvania are the cause of tens of thousands of injuries annually. Unfortunately, these accidents can have an overwhelming impact on victims. This is particularly true in cases where they suffer injuries.

When it comes to car accidents, common injuries can range from minor bumps and bruises to more severe fractures, whiplash, or even traumatic brain injuries. These incidents can leave individuals physically and emotionally traumatized while also causing financial burdens due to medical expenses and loss of income. In such cases, filing a personal injury claim becomes crucial for seeking compensation for the damages suffered. In Pennsylvania, the legal system follows a 51 percent comparative negligence rule when it comes to providing damages for those harmed in car accidents.

This rule permits accident victims to recover damages as long as they are found less than 51 percent responsible for the accident. Therefore, if an injured party is deemed partially at fault, for example, 25 percent, their potential recovery may be reduced by that percentage, in this case, 25 percent.
