Camp Hill, PA – 73-Vehicle Collision Leads to Injuries on PA-581

Camp Hill, PA (March 13, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a 73-vehicle collision that took place on a highway in Camp Hill on Saturday afternoon, March 12.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 2 p.m. on PA-581. Police confirmed that 73 vehicles were traveling on the highway when they became involved in a pile-up. It is believed that the involved vehicles lost control due to snowy roads and police are now blaming the weather conditions. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and many had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not known at this time.

The roadway was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene. This led to delays for some time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
