Fatal Auto Accidents in Pennsylvania

Injury-causing and even fatal auto accidents take place far too often in Pennsylvania. In fact, according to traffic authorities and officers across our state, these serious crashes are the cause of thousands of injuries every month. Unfortunately, there are many instances where crashes take place on our roadways that are completely preventable. Some of the most common factors in automobile collisions are:

  • Impaired Driving: Drivers operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs have impaired judgment and reduced reaction times, making them more likely to hit another vehicle.
  • Failure to Yield: Drivers who fail to yield the right-of-way to other vehicles while traveling through intersections or switching lanes are a significant cause of motor vehicle accidents.
  • Speeding: Excessive speed reduces a driver’s ability to react to unexpected situations, making it more likely for them to collide with other drivers who are traveling on the roadway.

After being involved in an accident, victims have the ability to file a personal injury claim against the responsible party. These legal claims can provide financial relief for some of the losses and damages the victims face. This can include recovering compensation for medical costs, lost earnings, pain and suffering, and more.
