Lehigh Co, PA - Man Identified in Deadly E-Bike Crash on Schantz Rd

Lehigh County, PA (July 6, 2025) – A 76-year-old man died on July 4 when his e-bike was involved in a collision with a vehicle.

The victim was identified as Thomas C. Hess, a township resident. It happened about 11:15 a.m. in the vicinity of Schantz and Cetronia Roads, according to Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio.

Hess was pronounced dead at 4:15 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. An autopsy is set for Monday. Besides the coroner’s office, investigating agencies are the township police, the Lehigh County crash team, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office. There was no word on the other vehicle or operator involved in the crash, or whether they were cooperating with police, though the circumstances of this crash remain under investigation. No further details have been released in the meantime.
