York Co., PA – Six Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-83 at Exit 39

York County, PA (November 14, 2025) – Six people were hospitalized after a major crash involving 12 vehicles on November 13.

The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 83 near Exit 39, according to PennDOT. Two tractor-trailers were among the vehicles involved. The Fairview Township Fire Department said the crash completely blocked all northbound lanes.

Emergency crews responded quickly and transported six people to nearby hospitals. Their conditions have not been released.

The wreck caused significant traffic delays. Vehicles were diverted at Exit 36, but a secondary crash happened in the traffic backup. A third crash then occurred on the southbound on-ramp.

Officials expect the interstate to remain closed for several hours while they clear the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.

Authorities are still working to determine what led to the pile-up.
