Philadelphia, PA (March 13, 2023) – Around 12:45 a.m. on the morning of Monday, March 13, a child and driver were injured in a serious car accident at a Philadelphia intersection.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at the intersection of East Upsal Street and Chew Avenue. Police confirmed that a Hyundai Tucson was traveling in the area when the driver was involved in a collision with a Chevrolet Cobalt at the intersection. The Cobalt then collided with a Buick that was parked in the area, shoving it into a Cadillac. The vehicles sustained extensive damage in the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver, identified as a 22-year-old woman, sustained injuries in the accident. Her 10-month-old passenger was also injured. Both parties were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Nobody else sustained injuries in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible so traffic could resume as normal.
