Snow Shoe, PA – Three Killed in Tractor-Trailer Collision on I-80

Snow Shoe, PA (June 20, 2023) – Three people were killed in a fatal tractor-trailer crash that took place on a highway in Snow Shoe on the morning of Tuesday, June 20.

According to Centre County officials, the accident happened after midnight on I-80 around the area of Milesburg. Police confirmed that two tractor-trailers and a passenger vehicle were involved in the collision due to reasons that are not entirely known. This caused the two trucks to go over an embankment while the passenger vehicle overturned on the roadway.

Snow Shoe responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Three people involved in the collision were tragically pronounced dead due to severe injuries. Two people involved in the crash were also airlifted to the hospital, and another person was hospitalized by ambulance. Their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was completely closed down in the area of the accident for several hours. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues. Police will continue to update with new information as it becomes available.
