Radnor, PA (July 18, 2024) – A driver was seriously injured after a tree fell on their car in the northbound lanes of I-476 in Delaware County following an apparent crash on Thursday morning, according to state police.
Pennsylvania State Police say the incident happened on Blue Route near West Chester Pike shortly after 11:00 a.m. According to state police, a red Toyota Rav4 was driving northbound on the highway when it was struck by a vehicle, as well as a downed tree. One driver suffered injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, state police say. Two other cars were hit by debris from the tree, but state police say their occupants were not seriously injured.
I-476 northbound was operating at one travel lane but has since reopened. PennDOT said all debris had been cleared but did not provide any additional information about the accident or those involved. Witnesses were asked to contact local officers if they had details or insight related to the accident.
