Providence Township, PA (June 22, 2025) – The southbound lanes of Interstate 476 in Nether Providence Township, Pennsylvania, reopened on Sunday night, June 22, after a multi-vehicle crash involving two cars and a pickup truck that was towing a large recreational trailer.
The crash happened between Exit 3 and Exit 1 on the Blue Route just before 6:00 p.m. and closed the highway for about four hours. Pennsylvania State Police said a woman was extricated from her car and suffered serious injuries. Four other people suffered minor injuries.
It's unclear what led to the accident. However, an investigation into the incident is ongoing, and witnesses were asked to contact local officers if they had details or insight related to the accident.
