Lake City, PA (February 13, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on Thursday afternoon, February 10.
Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that the crash took place at 9400 Middle Road around 4 p.m. Police confirmed that 85-year-old Nancy Adams was walking across the street so that she could retrieve her mail. As she started to walk back to her home, she was struck by a Mitsubishi Outlander that was traveling in the area. The driver was unable to hit the brakes in time and struck her with the vehicle’s mirror.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who was thrown into the other lane of traffic, was severely injured. She was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance but was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision continues.
