Harrisburg, PA (February 6, 2022) – A child was killed in a fatal DUI crash that took place on Saturday afternoon, February 5, in Harrisburg.
Swatara Township Police confirmed that the accident happened at 3:41 p.m. at 700 Keckler Road. When police arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle lying in a ditch with extensive damages. They discovered that 27-year-old Jordan Murlin was operating his vehicle and speeding when he lost control, driving the vehicle into a ditch off the side of the road.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene. Several occupants inside the vehicle, including a 12-year-old male child, were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The child was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital.
Murlin was arrested at the scene for his role in the collision. He has since been charged with homicide DUI by vehicle, DUI, 3 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, and driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
The roadway was blocked in the area as police worked to clear the scene.
