Easton, PA (May 13, 2022) – Around 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, May 12, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash on a highway in Easton.
The accident, according to Northampton County officials, took place on PA-248 around the entrance to the 25th Street Shopping Center. A motorcyclist was traveling in the area when, for reasons that are not yet known, it became involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle. The motorcycle sustained front-end damage and the passenger vehicle had rear-end damage as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as 31-year-old Van Urijah Cummings, Jr. was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
The highway was blocked in the area close to Sales Street and Lawnherst Avenue until police cleared the scene.
