Bicyclists are at risk for serious injury in the event of an accident. This is due to the fact that bicyclists have no protection from harm in the event of an accident involving any type of large vehicle. In Pennsylvania, only about 1.1% of accidents involve bicycles. This may seem like a small percentage, but thousands of bicycle-related accidents occur every year. Bicycle accidents tend to land victims in the hospital and cause them to miss out on vital time enjoying their favorite everyday activities.
