Wyncote, PA (December 12, 2020) – Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 12, a fatal train accident occurred at a rail station in Wyncote.
The pedestrian, identified only as an adult male, was struck by a Lansdale-Doylestown Line train at the Jenkintown-Wyncote Regional Rail Station. The man was on the tracks at the time of the accident.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene but nobody on the train was injured.
The signal systems were working properly at the time of the accident. Several train lines experienced delays in the area for some time.
The investigation into the collision is currently ongoing.
