Wrightstown, PA – Three Injured in Dump Truck Accident on Swamp Rd

Wrightstown, PA (April 11, 2023) – On Friday morning, April 7, a dump truck accident in Wrightstown led to injuries in three people.

According to Newtown Police, the accident happened at 900 Swamp Road around 11:49 a.m. in the area of Penns Park Road. Police claim that a dump truck was traveling in the area when it was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicle, identified as a silver sedan, was completely crushed and sustained severe front-end damages. The dump truck went off the side of the road and was also badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Wrightstown responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. An occupant was extricated from the sedan by fire crews. Both occupants inside the sedan were critically injured and rushed to local hospitals. The operator of the dump truck was also injured and taken to St. Mary Medical Center but is expected to be okay.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time.

No further details have been released, but the investigation into the accident continues. Police will update with new information as it is available.
