Valencia, PA (May 17, 2020) – Early this morning, a female was killed in a fatal car crash that took place on PA-8 in Valencia.
Police confirmed that a driver was driving their vehicle at almost three times the speed limit on Dwellington Road. They drove onto PA-8 and slammed into a CoGo’s store. The vehicle struck the building so forcefully that it went nearly all the way through the building.
The store was not open at the time and nobody was inside.
There were three women inside the vehicle at the time, including the driver. A 39-year-old female passenger, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver and her other passenger were taken to Pittsburgh Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Police did not yet file charges but believe that alcohol might have been a contributing factor. They are still working on their investigation at this time.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
