Upper Pottsgrove Twp, PA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on PA-100

Upper Pottsgrove Township, PA (December 15, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Upper Pottsgrove Township on the night of Wednesday, December 14.

According to Montgomery County officials, the accident happened around 10 p.m. on PA-100 in front of the Upland Square shopping center. A man was walking in the area and started to cross the street from PA-100 onto North State Street. However, while doing so, he was struck by an SUV that was traveling south on the roadway. The driver of the vehicle allegedly remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Upper Pottsgrove Township responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has only since been formally identified as an adult male, was rushed to Pottstown Hospital with blunt force injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there. The driver of the SUV that struck the pedestrian sustained injuries and was hospitalized but is expected to recover.

Due to the severity of the crash, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time.

No further details have been released, but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
