3 Reported Injured in Hampton Township Four-Vehicle Collision
Hampton Township, Pennsylvania (August 22, 2017) – A four-vehicle collision that took place along the Pennsylvania Turnpike Tuesday morning reduced traffic to a single lane. Officials reported that the collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. August 22, on the westbound lanes, near the 38-mile marker in Hampton Township.
The collision involved a car, a box truck, a van, and a tractor-trailer. At least three people were reported injured in the crash.
First responders had to cut out the driver of the car from the wreckage. Firefighters said the driver was conscious and alert but had to be airlifted via helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for the treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Police officers reopened all lanes of traffic around 12:30 p.m.
