Uniontown, PA – Two Killed in Fatal Car Accident on Walnut Hill Rd

Uniontown, PA (July 29, 2022) – On Thursday evening, July 28, two people were killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a roadway in Uniontown.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 5:26 p.m. on Walnut Hill Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Two people involved in the crash were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. They have since been identified as 29-year-old Tyler Durst and 27-year-old Mercedes Mecozzi. Three others involved in the accident were flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital by medical helicopter, though their current conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
