Union City, PA (April 9, 2021) – At 2:45 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, April 8, a woman was killed in a fatal accident in Union City.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened at the intersection of King Road and Rockdale Road. A tractor-trailer was attempting a south turn at the intersection when a Ford Escape SUV struck the tractor-trailer head-on.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The driver of the SUV, 32-year-old Randi Cook, was injured. So were two backseat passengers in the SUV.

A passenger in the SUV, identified as 34-year-old Jamie Higley, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as a 51-year-old man from Cambridge Springs, was not injured but remained at the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
