Posted on February 1, 2018 With tomorrow morning bringing unexpected, slippery road conditions, Lancaster County is projected to have unsafe roads with a drop in temperature. The National Weather Service predicts that rain is supposed to start in Lancaster before this evening, continuing on through the night, where temperatures drop and snow may result. The combination of precipitation and dropping temperatures is supposed to create a mix that could lead to icy spots on many roads for those heading to work and school early Friday morning. Man Struck and Killed Crossing Street in Pedestrian Accident

Posted on January 31, 2018  Days ago, just within an hour of Lancaster County, an elderly man was struck and killed by a car while he was crossing the street. The 78-year-old was crossing the street right around lunchtime when he stepped onto the roadways and was struck by a gray Volvo traveling eastbound. Luckily, the driver stayed at the scene. The victim was transported to a hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead later in the day. Man Crashed Car Into Home in Lancaster County Due to DUI

Posted on January 29, 2018 Last year, a man crashed his car into a home in Lancaster County while he was driving 100 mph under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. This is typical in an incident of DUI, where many drivers tend to speed. Today, he was sentenced to state prison for his actions. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, and aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence. Drunk Driving: Several DUI-Related Stops Made in Lancaster in Past Week

Posted on January 23, 2018 Over the past week in Lancaster County, two citizens have been stopped and charged with DUI by police. In one event a 27-year-old was charged with DUI after he drove his vehicle into a pasture. In another event, a 25-year-old was charged with DUI as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while operating a suspended license, and two other traffic offenses. Over the past two days in Lancaster County, snow relentlessly fell nonstop, with countywide reports showing about 1 to 3 inches of snow in most areas. Because of the snowfall, many people called off from work and school districts called off throughout the whole county. A winter weather advisory was placed in effect until 1:00 PM this afternoon. On Friday night, an accident occurred when a driver lost control of a vehicle and it turned counter-clockwise across the westbound lane of traffic, only stopping after it hit a tree. Wrongful Death: Deadly Crash in Lancaster County on NYE an Accident

On New Year’s Eve in Lancaster County, a 17-year-old girl was killed due to multiple traumatic injuries after a car accident that was ruled accidental. An 18-year-old as well as two other juveniles were involved and also injured in the crash. The 17-year-old girl’s vehicle went off the road and traveled into a detached garage located behind a home.
