Sugar Grove Township, PA (August 16, 2018) On Sunday night, around 10:00 p.m., a two-vehicle wreck occurred on Route 957. A woman named Elizabeth Donovan drove her vehicle eastbound at the top of the hill. Once she reached the center line, her vehicle collided with a tractor driven by Travis Larsen. Donovan’s vehicle spun counter-clockwise before it stopped. Donovan had three passengers in her vehicle. The EMS transported Donovan and two of her passengers to Warren General Hospital. An emergency helicopter flew the other passenger to UPMC Hamot. Unfortunately, one of the passengers suffered fatal injuries. Her name was Anne Wolf and she was 78-years old. The police are currently investigating the crash.
Although all drivers are responsible for paying attention to their surroundings, fatal accidents still occur frequently. Most drivers believe they can multi-task while they drive, which is the leading cause of accidents. Texting, eating, applying makeup, conversing with another passenger, and programming a GPS are all examples of distractions that can lead to fatal collisions. Other causes of collisions are bad road conditions, hazardous weather conditions, and defective auto parts. Once investigators determine the cause of this collision, Wolf’s family could work with an attorney to file a wrongful death lawsuit. The other injured victims could file personal injury lawsuits to receive compensation for their injuries. It’s very unfortunate that Wolf lost her life in this collision, and it’s also unfortunate that the other passengers are suffering injuries.
