State College, PA – Moped Accident Leads to Serious Injuries at Hastings Rd & University Dr

State College, PA (May 16, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a moped accident that took place at an intersection in State College on the evening of Monday, May 15.

According to State College Police, the accident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Hastings Road and University Drive. Police confirmed that a driver was on a moped in the area when they were suddenly involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle at the intersection. The involved vehicles sustained damages, with the moped crashing to the ground.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The man who was driving the moped, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained serious injuries in the collision. He was flown to a Danville hospital by medical helicopter, though his current condition is not yet known.

A large portion of the road was blocked at the intersection for some time after the accident. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
