Shippensburg, PA - Injuries Reported in I-81 Car Accident at Walnut Bottom

Shippensburg, PA (December 30, 2023) – Just before 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, authorities responded to a two-vehicle collision with injuries near the intersection of Walnut Bottom Road and the Interstate 81 junction.

As a result of the collision, Walnut Bottom Road was blocked to all westbound traffic at Belvedere Street, and the southbound and on-ramp at Exit 45 on Interstate 81 was also closed. Firefighters, along with officers from the Shippensburg Police Department, reported to the scene to assist, and paramedics apparently took at least one to two people to a nearby hospital. The current conditions of the victims are unknown, but Carlisle County authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the collision to contact officers.
