Unfortunately, most drivers are not looking out for bicyclists on the road, which is a huge reason why so many bicycle accidents occur. Because riders don’t wear body armor to protect their limbs, they’re highly susceptible to injuries. The most common injuries include head injuries, broken bones, spinal cord injuries, and internal injuries. Some injuries could require medical treatment for months, some for a lifetime. Other injuries could be fatal. In this case, the rider is very fortunate to have only received minor injuries. However, it’s important to note that some injury symptoms don’t show up immediately. The rider could file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a personal injury lawyer.

Bicycle accidents usually occur because of negligent driving. Drivers either aren’t paying attention, or by the time they see the cyclist they’re unable to stop their vehicle quick enough. More investigation will determine why the driver hit the bicyclist.
