Schnecksville, PA (July 29, 2020) – Around 5:15 p.m. last evening, July 28, a dump truck accident took place at an intersection in Schnecksville.
According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of PA-873 and Neffs Laurys Road when a Freightliner dump truck and an SUV collided with each other.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a 57-year-old woman was driving her Toyota SUV when her vehicle was involved in a collision with the dump truck. She had a 57-year-old passenger in the vehicle with her.
Both the woman and her passenger were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The 71-year-old man driving the dump truck was not injured due to the accident.
The SUV was so badly damaged that it had to be removed from the scene of the accident by a tow truck. The truck could be driven away from the scene.
Police confirmed that the roadway was closed down in the area for a period of time until they cleared the scene.
No further details have been provided but police continue their investigation.
