Saltlick Twp, PA – Many Injured in Bus Accident at Pine Slopes Rd & Indian Creek Valley Rd
Saltlick Township, PA (June 28, 2023) – Around 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 28, a serious bus accident that injured approximately 30 people took place in Saltlick Township.
According to Fayette County officials, the accident happened in the early morning hours at the intersection of Pine Slopes Road and Indian Creek Valley Road. Police confirmed that a summer camp bus was traveling in the area when the driver suddenly veered off the side of the road due to reasons that are not yet known. The bus struck a wooden fence off the side of the road and then came to a stop in a field.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of 25 children and three adults on the bus sustained injuries due to the collision. The injured victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
A portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time after the accident. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
