Rostraver, PA – Three People Injured in Serious Car Crash on I-70LawPaWriter
Rostraver, PA (July 19, 2021) – On Sunday morning, July 18, a serious car crash took place on a highway in Rostraver.
According to Rostraver authorities, the accident took place on I-70 around the area of the Matthew Smelser Memorial Bridge. Police confirmed that 59-year-old Robert Wilson was driving a Volkswagen Cabrio in the area when it was suddenly struck from behind by 34-year-old Edward Monessen in a Volkswagen Jetta. Both vehicles went down an embankment and rolled over.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. Both Wilson and Monessen were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. A passenger, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, the eastbound lanes of traffic were blocked for several hours as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
