Reading, PA (October 18, 2020) – On Saturday afternoon, October 17, an eight-vehicle accident took place on a highway in Reading.

Though few details have been released concerning the accident, police confirmed that eight vehicles collided with one another in the westbound lanes of US-422. Police have not yet confirmed the details leading up to the collision but have said that multiple vehicles had extensive damages.

EMS crews and local fire departments were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Two people, who have not yet been identified, were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The roadway was closed down in the area for a period of time, which increased traffic in the area for several hours until police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
