Pottsville, PA (July 12, 2023) – Around 12:15 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 11, a car accident caused a vehicle to be ripped in half and resulted in serious injuries in Pottsville.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened on Route 901. Police confirmed that a Ford Focus and a Ford Mustang became involved in the accident due to reasons that are not yet known. The rear end of the Focus was completely sheared off due to the severity of the accident, causing debris to scatter all over the road in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two occupants inside the Focus, as well as the driver of the Mustang, all sustained injuries in the accident. They were all taken to the hospital for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time, which led to delays until the scene was cleared.
