Plymouth Meeting, PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer on I-278

Plymouth Meeting, PA (May 12, 2021) – On Wednesday evening, May 12, a multi-vehicle crash took place on a highway in Plymouth Meeting.

According to Montgomery County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes ofI-278 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) around the area of mile marker 336. A tractor-trailer and five other vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction crash that led to extensive damages to the vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Three people were injured and hospitalized as a result of their injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
