Pittsburgh, PA (June 16, 2021) – At 12:30 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, June 15, a serious hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred in Pittsburgh.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of South Aiken Street and Walnut Street. A pedestrian was crossing the street at the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver of the passenger vehicle immediately fled the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The adult male pedestrian was found with head injuries, covered in blood at the scene. He was rushed to the hospital and has been listed in critical condition.
Police have not yet found the driver responsible for the hit-and-run accident. The vehicle was described only as a 2019 Honda HR-V SUV. Police believe that the vehicle has damage to its windshield.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
