Pittsburgh, PA (January 11, 2022) – A pedestrian crash involving a bus took place at an intersection in Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning, January 11.
According to local responders, the accident happened around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Smithfield Street. A female pedestrian was walking across the street at the intersection when she was suddenly struck by a Port Authority bus. Police confirmed that the 61A North Braddock bus caught the woman between the front bumper and the street. The driver of the bus remained at the scene.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was critically injured in the accident. She was rushed to the hospital and remains there. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the accident.
