Pittsburgh, PA (September 3, 2020) – Around 9:30 a.m. on September 2, a pedestrian accident took place at an intersection in Pittsburgh.

At the time of the accident, an ACCESS van was making a right turn onto Fifth Avenue from North Dithridge Street on a red light. At the same time, a 94-year-old woman was crossing the street at the intersection.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene where they found the woman with severe injuries. She was taken to the hospital with a leg injury. Police confirmed that she was alert at the time of the accident but was rushed to a local hospital. Her current condition is not yet known.

Due to the severity of the accident, Fifth Avenue was closed in the area for an extended period of time.

The driver of the ACCESS van stayed at the scene to cooperate with the police. Nobody in the van was injured.

At this time, the investigation into the collision continues.
