Pittsburgh, PA – One Critically Injured in Car Crash on I-279
Pittsburgh, PA (April 28, 2023) – On Friday morning, April 28, a car accident happened on a major highway in Pittsburgh that led to serious injuries.
According to Pittsburgh officials, the accident happened in the early morning hours on I-279. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they were involved in a collision with one another due to reasons that are not entirely known. Both of the vehicles sustained severe front-end damage, and debris was left scattered all over the highway.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person involved in the accident sustained critical injuries. A second person suffered from minor injuries and was rushed to the hospital but has since been listed in stable condition. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
